Cookie Policy

Last updated: 30 March 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how StudyPass (operated by Rolo Academy Ltd) uses them, and how you can manage your preferences.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners. Cookies may be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remaining on your device for a set period or until you delete them).

2. Cookies We Use

StudyPass uses the following categories of cookies:

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website and application to function. They enable core features such as signing in, maintaining your session, and remembering your cookie consent preference. You cannot opt out of these cookies as the service would not function without them.

Cookie Provider Purpose Duration
__session Clerk Authentication session token Session
__client_uat Clerk User authentication state 1 year
__clerk_db_jwt Clerk Secure session verification Session
sp_cookie_consent StudyPass Stores your cookie consent preference 1 year

2.2 Analytics Cookies

We use Plausible Analytics for website analytics. Plausible is a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual users across sites. As a result, no analytics cookies are set by StudyPass.

If we introduce additional analytics tools in the future that use cookies, we will update this policy and request your consent before setting those cookies.

2.3 Marketing and Advertising Cookies

StudyPass does not currently use any marketing, advertising, or tracking cookies. We do not serve ads and do not share data with advertising networks. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Our authentication provider (Clerk) and payment processor (Stripe) may set their own cookies when you sign in or make a payment. These are strictly necessary for those services to function and are governed by their respective privacy policies:

4. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

When you first visit StudyPass, a cookie banner will ask for your consent. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of any page.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or set preferences for specific websites. Note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or using core features of the service.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, particularly if we introduce new cookies or change our analytics or advertising practices. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be communicated via an updated cookie banner.
