National Anthem

An official patriotic song that represents a country and is played at formal occasions and state events.

Explanation

Each country has an official national anthem that represents its values and history. The US anthem is 'The Star-Spangled Banner,' written by Francis Scott Key in 1814. The UK anthem is 'God Save the King' (or 'God Save the Queen' during a queen's reign). Canada's anthem is 'O Canada,' officially adopted in 1980.
